Earlier today, we speculated that Verizon would be rolling out a firmware update for the Verizon BlackBerry Storm sometime soon, possibly even today. The update is expected to fix a lot of the laggy screen rotation and keyboard issues that many BlackBerry Storm users have been complaining of.

Lo and behold, Verizon has just gone official with the BlackBerry Storm firmware update! Big Red has announced that it will indeed be rolling out the BlackBerry OS 4.7.0.75 firmware today. The update will be made available through the Desktop Software Manager and web-based downloads first. Over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates will start rolling out at 9:30 PST tonight.

So, all you BlackBerry Storm loyals that have been waiting for Verizon to get off their duffs and fix all those niggling issues with your new touchy-feely handset can now rest easy.
