Truphone is out with their VoIP app that specifically targets iPod Touch users. Not that you can’t use it on your iPhone as well, the idea is to add phone functionality to the iPod Touch, which is an awesome idea.
However, you will need a microphone adaptor in order to actually talk with someone on the other side, but that’s not a big deal. Once you add microphone and install Truphone from the AppStore, you’re ready to take and make free calls to users of Truphone’s Internet telephony service, and to users of the Google Talk instant messaging service.
News doesn’t stop there. Truphone plans to upgrade its app in the near future to allow users to make and receive calls to and from landlines at low cost, chat and talk with their buddies on Skype and MSN, as well as check and set facilities for Twitter and Facebook.
Want it? Here’s the link from where you can grab Truphone for iPod Touch (iTunes).
