T-Mobile has been offering a ‘Free Companion Flight’ promo that is coming to an end shortly. Figured I should mention it quick before it runs its course. The promo started on November 19th and runs through December 24th.

How does it work? Well, simply sign up on T-Mo with the standard 2-year agreement, and they will comp you a free ‘companion’ flight for a buddy, spouse or family member to almost anywhere you want to fly. You get 1 free companion flight per new line activated… with a limit of 5.

Buy your ticket to wherever you want to go (ok, almost anywhere) and T-Mobile will kick in for the companion flight. The offer is good till February 10th, 2010 (provided you cash in on this offer before Dec. 24th!) New and existing customers qualify for the offer, and over 100 destinations are included as travel options.

As you can see right here, there are tons of great travel destinations for flying around the US. Me, I’d probably hop on a plane to Florida or Texas right about now… it’s awfully cold up here. Although a few weeks ago I was in Vegas… and the following week it snowed!

At any rate, this looks like a fun promotion… and an inticing one especially if you already had travel plans. Might as well save on a ticket here and there, right!? :) For more info check out the official site.

Thanks Jackson!

    This “offer” aint all it is cracked up to be. Be sure to check some other blogs (BGR, etc) for more info and past experiences before you commit to this “deal”!!!

    T-mobile offered me a free companion flight just for being in their top 5% customers of all time. This offer came without extending my conract or having to buy a new phone. Go T-mobile.

  • Jim

    What a joke. My wife and I took advantage of this “deal”. When we booked the flight, the cost for a single traveler was exactly the cost of two travelers if booked on the carrier’s web site instead of T-Mobile’s site – plus an additional “booking fee”. We were better off not using it.

    This ‘deal’ worked great for me! No issues what-so-ever, and saved money contrary to Jim’s experience. On top of the money I saved, it was SUPER simple and convenient to book my trip. I definitely recommend this promotion.

    This is no deal. I was so excited to spend my 30th birthday in another state with my sister and friends. Then I checked on the prices and they were just as much as two flights would cost through other sites! RIP OFF! I feel like I’ve been suckered.

    The way I used it last year was on a last minute pair of tickets. I ended up getting flights for a portion of what it would have cost me easy. Also depending on where it is you want to go, you can get flights for a lot cheaper using this deal.

    So to put some numbers to the deal… Here’s the trip that I just looked into booking:

    ATL -> FLL, AirTran Flight 71, April 10, 2009
    FLL -> ATL, AirTran Flight 87, April 13, 2009

    T-Mobile’s “Buy one, get one free” cost: $402.76
    AirTran’s website (2 paid tickets): $334.40

    Figures.
