Mobinnova, not HTC to make future Sony Ericsson Windows Mobile smartphones?

According to Chinese-language Commercial Times, Sony Ericsson will switch from HTC to Mobinnova for the manufacturing of its future Windows Mobile-powered smartphones. These info, however, suggest that the Swedish-Japanese handset maker will continue to work with HTC until the Xperia X1 completes its business cycle.

Apparently, the switch shouldn’t be that hard for Sony Ericsson, as Mobinnova which is a handset maker under Foxconn Electronics/Hon Hai Precision Industry, made its own experiences with Microsoft’s mobile OS. And while we’ve no doubts Swedes and Japanese know what they’re doing (this seems like a cost-cutting measure), we do hope this move won’t produce a delay in the Xperia X1 production, which we think will be released during next year…
