Some time ago we wrote about Pinger and their voice-sms-kind-of-service. Now, they’re out with new offering called Pinger Phone. We’re talking about a mobile application here which provides users with a simple interface for managing and communicating with phone contacts as well as with friends on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

From Pinger’s release:

People can see IM presence in their contacts or their social network feeds, and then decide whether to call, text, instant message, mail or even send a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter message, all from one simple menu. Pinger Phone is a free application and available now on iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Pinger plans to develop versions of Pinger Phone on BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian.

Some of the Pinger Phone features include:

  • The Pinger Menu – A single menu from where users can call, text, IM, mail, or even send a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter message to contacts.
  • Social network feed consolidation – Facebook, MySpace and Twitter feeds pulled together into a clutter-free format.
  • Faster IM with horizontal keyboard – automatically switches to the horizontal keyboard for faster and more accurate typing. IM networks supported include AIM, Yahoo! IM, MSN IM and Google Talk.
  • Free texting to any US mobile phone

Pinger Phone is available as a free application for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users from the AppStore. Other mobile platforms — including BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian — will be supported in the near future.
