Truphone team has been busy adding new features to their two AppStore apps – Truphone for iPhone and Truphone for iPod Touch.

  • First they introduced full two-way instant messaging over MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk on the iPod Touch and have also announced that availability on the iPhone would begin on the week of January 12th. In addition, they enabled users to make and receive voice calls on Google Talk, while calling functionality to MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger will be added in the coming weeks. Finally, Twitter is included in the mix and has been integrated into the TruFriends view.
  • The second news that was announced at the same day deals with Skype. The company debuted the ability to make and receive Skype calls and instant messaging to the entire Skype user base from an iPhone or iPod Touch. The service is scheduled to be available to all customers during the week of January 12th.

In a word – impressive! But, you don’t have to rush with an update or download if you still haven’t grabbed Truphone. If your calendar is kinda heavy these days, waiting for the week of January 12th is advisable. ;)
