Generally themes don’t really turn my crank, but this new series from Triformity really caught my eye because it was about utility before looks. There aren’t any crazy new icons or obnoxious bundled backgrounds or wacky fonts – they simply offer more icons on the BlackBerry homescreen in a layout that is intuitive and useful. There’s plenty of room on the top bar for notifications of every type, and a miniaturized row of icons offer all the basic BlackBerry applications. For awhile, I had turned the Dial from Home Screen option off so the keypad could be used for shortcuts (M for Messages, A for Address Book, O for Options, etc.) instead of phone dialing, but a clever theme like this could have saved me that trouble without sacrificing customizable slots to core functions. These guys are very smart about their themes and appeal extremely well to us power-users. It’s only on the BlackBerry Bold right now, but drop them a line if you’d like to see it on other models. Hit up their site to take a look at the four Enterprise variants: Focus, Space, Simple and Speed.
