Nokia BP-6M batteries could potentially balloon in size

Nokia has recently issued a warning, saying that in rare cases their BP-6M batteries used in such popular models as the N73, N77 and N93 could potentially balloon to several times of their original size.

The Finnish giant isn’t saying how common the problem is, only that it affects a “limited number of batteries” and that the swelling presents “no risk to health of safety.” That’s a totally different story than their earlier problem with BL-5C batteries, which tended to over-heat in some cases. Still, it’s worth checking whether your battery (if it’s BP-6M), retained the original size. If it looks large, that actually may be the case, so you better take it to the nearest Nokia Service Center to take care of it…

Yes. Mine actually did swell. Not several times its size, but enough to not fit under the plastic thingie. Girl at the Nokia store told me it was because i left the telephone charging over night.
