Remember Space Invaders? It was one of the first games I ever played and I still enjoy it from time to time. Ok, not exactly that often, but I do play it once a year or so.

The good news is that now all of us can play it while on the go, as the game has recently being released for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. It costs a buck ($0.99), and packs the original look and feel — graphics and sound, included. In addition, Space Invaders can also take advantage of the built-in accelerometer for controlling the ship’s movement. Alternatively, there are on-screen buttons for moving the ship left and right.

And if you don’t know what Space Invaders is all about, here’s a link to the Wikipedia page that explains the game in details. And here is the AppStore (iTunes) link.

NOTE: For some reason Invaders is not available in the U.S. AppStore. Don’t worry, there are other similar titles. Simply search for “Space Invaders” and you’ll see few similar games available.
