If you ever had any doubt that the iPhone was the premier mobile gaming device, I’ve got some cool news for you this morning. Turns out that more than 6,000 iPhone games are now available via the App Store, and those numbers are growing quick.

Currently 6,165 games are available. 1,485 of those titles are free, and the rest are paid. Not a bad ratio, those numbers work out to mean 24% of games are freebies. Gotta love the free games (at least when they’re half-decent).

Side note: speaking of free games, check out Arcade Bowling Lite from Skyworks Interactive. Downloaded it the other day and it’s pretty darn good for a freebie. My high score is 580… let me know if you can beat it :)

These numbers all come to us from the iPhone app tracking site Mobclix. Check ‘em out for more info.
