poynt-beta-blackberryRumor has it the popular Poynt Beta app has been updated to support non-GPS BlackBerry devices! This is very cool for those on BlackBerry’s without GPS functionality. The update uses cellphone towers to triangulate your location just like Google Maps ‘My Location’.

Poynt Beta for BlackBerry lets you easily search for and find businesses while you’re on-the-go. Key features of the app from the developers:

  • Save time searching for businesses using Poynt’s intuitive interface
  • Search for movies near you and buy tickets on the go
  • Set your location by GPS, IP detection or manually to receive accurate results based on where you are
  • See results listed by distance from your location
  • Call or map listings and browse websites with the click of a button
  • Get directions from anywhere, to anywhere in North America

To grab your copy head on over to m.mypoynt.com from your BlackBerry web browser. If your Berry and network are supported, you’ll be directed to an OTA download link.
