Word is spreading that AT&T stores in the New York, New Jersey area are getting Refurbished 16GB iPhone 3GS in stock, with a pricetag of $149 on a 2-year contract. Not bad. The tipster is ‘new’ for the folks over at BGR, so they’re a little hesitant to confirm this as fact or fiction at the moment. I certainly hope this is true, sounds like a good deal if you don’t mind running around with refurbed hardware.

One quick side note about refurbished iPhone 3G‘s… The refurbs are not available as upgrades. To pick one up you’ve got to be doing a new activation on a new line at the AT&T store. At least that’s what I hear :P More on this soon, guaranteed.
