Fandango goes iPhone

Popular moviegoer destination Fandango has recently launched its iPhone app, allowing movie fans to easily access movie and theater information, buy tickets for more than 16,000 screens across the U.S., watch trailers, read synopses, view fan ratings and more.

Movie fans can find their desired movie from a list of “In Theaters” or “Coming Soon”, or browse local theaters using the iPhone’s location-based features. Once located, theaters could be added to a “favorites” list for faster searching.

Speaking of searching, it’s super easy to purchase tickets for more all those screens across the States: simply select the desired date, time and ticket quantity, and that’s it. And to make the process even faster, you can even save your credit card information so that next time you don’t have to pull the card out.

Finally, to celebrate the launch, Fandango is offering users an exclusive clip from EARTH, the first motion picture from the new film label Disneynature which opens on Earth Day, April 22, 2009.
