Palm Pre iPhone theme

Today we’re presenting you with a neat theme, obviously created by the Palm Pre fan, MMi forum member “balderson.” You’ve probably guessed correctly, the idea is to make the iPhone look like its Palm’s highly anticipated smartphone. In that sense, the theme features 21 icons, although balderson wowed to add more in the future.

If you dig the idea, you’ll need a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch to proceed. If that’s on place, simply search for “Pre” in Cydia. As far as I’ve understood, it should be there. Alternatively, you may want to read more details, prior to pushing the button, and you can do that from this thread on MMi forums

The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. You’re right… I think Palm will sue the bejeezus out of Apple for ripping off so many long-held patents in the mobile smartphone arena.

Seriously, if it weren’t for the fact that Apple has way deeper pockets, it would be a suicide move by Apple to sue Palm. And what moron awarded Apple a patent for multitouch when the concept and implementation has been around for over a decade (just in other, non-mobile systems).

C’mon, you don’t think Apple and Microsoft “borrowed” many of the original Palm, Handspring, Treo patents out there? Palm didn’t make a fuss… it’s called playing friendly and evolving the technology… EVOLVING… using existing ideas and technology and updating them for current or future use.

Apple is just sore cuz someone 1-up’d them. Look how many companies 1-up’d Palm’s Treo line (and stupid Palm didn’t come back with a worthy response, hence the financial trouble they’re in now). But like I said, that’s how the world evolves. Don’t think so? Look at the Motorola RAZR and the number of companies that copied them and evolved the “thinness” factor. Or the ancient StarTac, and the number of companies that started making small flip-phones.
