Nokia (NYSE: NOK) keeps expanding its online music stores around the world. Their latest move was to South Africa, where they’ve opened virtual doors of the store few days ago.

Again — just like that was the case with their other local music stores — Nokia made sure both major record labels (i.e. Sony Music, Universal, EMI and Warner) are on board, as well as local independents including African Cream, Coolspot, Sheer and Next Music.

Users can purchase music through a variety of payment options, including credit cards and pre-paid vouchers. Individual tracks cost R10, while the entire albums can be purchased for R100. Each of the tracks in the catalog can be previewed for 30 seconds prior to purchase.

Among the local artists that are included in the catalog are rock bands The Narrow, Snotkop and Springbok Nude Girls, electronic acts Kalahari Surfers, Goldfish and Felix Laband, a full Afrikaans genre including the likes of Kurt Darren, Piet Botha and Karen Zoid, hip hoppers Prophets of da City, Judith Sephuma, kwaito guys Tzozo and Professor, MCs like Teba, and even traditional artists like Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

South Africa is the 16th country to see a local launch of the Nokia Music Store…
