In addition to ditching the much-derided SurePress clicking touchscreen of the original BlackBerry Storm, the sequel device has a built-in blogger detector which is designed to foil leak-happy new media journalists with an insurmountable EULA screen. That would explain why we didn’t see much more of the operating system in the first round of pictures. In any case, it’s good to get some confirmation of carrier, dual-mode support, as well as proof that SurePress is good and dead in favour of a traditional capacitive touchscreen. Hopefully the rumoured inclusion of haptic feedback won’t send Storm 1 vets into flashbacks. Beyond the revamped side keys and flush soft keys, the Storm 2 is looking more or less identical to its daddy. So, who’s dancing on the grave of the original Storm?
