Global Innovation Atlas

Today at HiT Barcelona conference, we’ve seen presentation of the global Innovation Atlas, an initiative of the World Alliance of Innovation (WAINOVA), coordinated by the International Association of Scientific Parks (IASP).

It’s not exactly mobile-related news, but it’s interesting nonetheless. We’re talking about an online (web-based) software/service that shows the globe with around 700 spots that represent innovation centres (nodes) spread over the five continents.

From the interface, users can find out all information about every node – location, grab documents and multimedia files, read latest statistics, human resources information, and more. Atlas’ database is up to date with businesses, professionals, documents on all centres involved in the project.

Finally, you may be wondering what’s the point of Atlas. WAINOVA hopes it will help spur innovation and transfer of technology around the world, effectively helping all parties included. It certainly sounds promising and we have to see what kind of results it can produce…
