NAVIGON

Now that the iPhone 3.0 software has been released, we see more and more companies announcing their support for the updated platform that opens new possibilities. Navigon is not an exception, hence they’ve unveiled their iPhone plans.

They’ve announced MobileNavigator, their navigation software which sports most (if not all) features Navigon is known for such as Reality View Pro, Real Roadsign Pro, Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant, Day & Night Mode, amongst others, as well as the option of displaying POIs along the route. Moreover, they also said that a free, lite version will also be released, which will lack the active route guidance…

The price was not unveiled, though, but we’ll know it within two weeks or so. Stay tuned.

It’s listed as available now on apps store for £54.99 until end of June, for Europe.

Question is do I go for it or wait for tom tom ???

This software has already been release in UK and it cost £55. It is running very well I have to say, I’m loving it.

Navigon’s MobileNavigator app for iPhone was released yesterday on the UK App Store for £55. The app includes maps for UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, et al.

Not everyone requires the whole European map totalling 1.5gb some people just single maps. My advice to everyone is wait for tom-tom and Igo they will be cheaper, since you will only be paying for the maps you download.

Bought the UK Isles version which was £38, will cost £60 at the end of June. Graphically i like it over my TomTom 520. I think the voice quality is poor and lack of other voices is disappointing. You don’t get 7 character post code option. A lot more work need to be done to this satnav if it is going to compete. Glad i only spent £38 it as i feel i may well be purchasing the TomTom app when it comes out.
