Find Internet Cafe - iPhone app

Here’s an app that’s very useful for anyone traveling to or within the United States. Find Internet Cafe does one thing superbly – help you find a nearest Internet cafe.

As expected, it relies on iPhone’s location capabilities to locate cafes based on proximity. It can also show a map with driving directions, phone number of a cafe, and a link to the cafe’s website, where applicable. Moreover, you can bookmark favorite places to find them more easily later.

And that’s about it. I’m hoping they’ll update their database with other Internet cafes outside of U.S. and make the application international. In the meantime, here’s a link from where you can grab Find Internet Cafe for a buck ($0.99).

Does anyone else find it strange that the iPhone is being used to located an internet cafe? Can’t you just go on the internet on your iPhone? I mean, I could see this as being useful if your batter is close to dying, but other than that, just browse the net on your iPhone. ;)
