htc-mega-wifi-allianceHTC boffins are cooking up something new in their R&D facilities. We know this because the WiFi Alliance has leaked a new HTC handset codename that we haven’t yet heard of. These WiFi guys are getting really good at leaking unannounced handset codenames!

The HTC “MEGA” brand is referenced in the WiFi Alliance’s latest handset certification documents, but has since been changed to “PB74 Series.” We gotta figure HTC was none too pleased to see their unannounced handset brand announced by a third party.

Cellpassion mentions the possibility of the HTC “Mega” launching as a Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional smartphone of some sort. As long as we’re throwing guesses into the hat, we’d like to see HTC bringing a MEGA-branded smartbook into the fold.
