Quattro WirelessQuattro Wireless is out with a brand new SDK for Android, allowing developers to annoy their users with ads in apps. I’m kidding, as I’m aware app developers (especially those who make free apps) need some way to monetize their work, and putting an ad is one way to do it.

That said, Quattro is one of the companies which could help them [mobile application developers] monetize their work. Moreover, Quattro is saying that advertisers are/should be compelled to put their ads in front of Android device users, as they use their apps on a regular basis. For instance:

  • The average T-Mobile G1 user has downloaded more than 40 applications from the Android market virtual storefront (Source: Google)
  • 80% of G1 users download at least one application per week (Source: T-Mobile)
  • 35% percent of Android users can be defined as “heavy users,” using applications more than 50 times per month (Source: Flurry)

And that’s about all we got from Quattro’s release. What exactly is included in the SDK, we don’t know — actually I haven’t researched properly, and even if I had, I’m not an expert of advertising SDKs. You’ll have to visit their website to get additional details. Good luck!
