PlayNow Arena applications

Sony Ericsson announced that developers are now free to submit their apps to the company’s application store – PlayNow Arena. Announced at the beginning of June, the upcoming store will be operated by GetJar and will offer Apple-like 70/30 deal to developers. Moreover, they [developers] are free to participate and there are annual fees.

At the moment, the handset maker is accepting Java ME and Symbian S60 5th edition applications and games only, but the plan is to expand to other platforms supported by Sony Ericsson — i.e. Windows Mobile and later Android.

To submit your app, you should be a member of the Sony Ericsson Developer World (membership is free), and then use your username and password on a dedicated website.
