Nokia’s next big handset, the N86, will apparently be hitting the American streets around August 22 according to warehouse stock information. The docs also list a suggested retail price of $499, considerably lower than what was previously stated. A firmware update just went out today, likely the last before we start seeing the devices on shelves. The N97 wasn’t exactly received warmly, but the N86 shows promise with a familiar two-way slider form factor and an impressive 8 megapixel camera – Nokia’s first handset to hit that mark. I guess I’d be more excited about the launch date if I didn’t have one in my grubby little mitts right now.
Review next week! If you’re already sold, the preorder page is right over here.
