And iTunes 9 rumors continue. We have some additional details to share about the social networking aspects of the application. Here’s what we’ve heard:

  • Apple is looking beyond integrating popular social networking services into iTunes. They will, it seems, enable social playlists of some sort. Moreover, it is said they are looking to create their own social application a la Yahoo’s OneConnect, which would consolidate all your social networking services.
  • Mentioned application will enable users to broadcast and share music they’re currently listening to, connect with friends and update statuses across social networks.
  • Finally, and this one’s related to the application organization feature we’ve mentioned before, iTunes 9 will allow users to sort iPhone/iPod Touch apps either manually or by category and date added.

Plus, we have some screenshots to share. Don’t forget, this story is still at the early rumor phase, so treat it in that manner despite the fact that many of the things said here make perfect sense. We’ll have to wait and see…
