iPhone 3GS Stock in Canada Drying Up

Rogers is admitting that they’ve got a backlog of iPhone 3GS orders to catch up on, much to the chagrin of those eager to snag Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s latest and greatest. This is likely because the U.S. market needs to get taken care of before anything else, although a few units are still trickling in north of the border.

“We are out of stock and still taking orders as our inventory continues to come in week to week,” [Rogers (NYSE: RCI) spokeswoman Liz Hamilton] said. “While we have continuous incoming inventory, we are filling back orders on a priority basis and we appreciate the enthusiasm and patience of our customers.”

If you find yourself hurting for an iPhone 3GS, try the nearest Apple store since they’ll have priority, although the store might be a long way off, considering there are only 11 in the whole country. Whether or not we’ll also be stuck waiting for the 8GB version of the 3GS is something else entirely, but older models, like the discounted iPhone 3G are also likely still kicking around. Just remember that even with sales so enthusiastic that inventory suffers, carriers might still be getting the short end of the stick.
