Palm’s second webOS device, the pared-down Pixi, will supposedly be hitting Best Buy and Sprint stores on October 20th. If you haven’t seen the specs, here’s a quick run-down.

  • 2.63-inch multi-touch screen, 18-bit color, 320×400 resolution
  • GPS
  • 2 megapixel fixed focus camera
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 8 GB of storage built in
  • Qualcomm MSM7627 chipset
  • 55 mm x 111 mm x 10.85 mm; 99.5 grams

I’d be curious to see what the price point is going to be like, mainly since it will be downgrading the Pre’s camera and screen size, as well as taking out Wi-Fi. Is anyone holding out for this that didn’t just go out and buy a Pre already?

I’m intrested in the GSM version of it since I live in Europe.

I’m guessing we would get it around 3GSM time as it was the case with the Centro! What do you think Simon?

Yeah, February is a safe bet, if the gap between European and North American Pre releases are any indicator. Sure would be nice for Palm if the Pixi came out on both sides of the pond before the holidays, though…
