If those screenshots of the HTC Hero have whet your palette for Android 2.1, it may be arriving sooner than you think. Google’s official Android site got a significant facelift recently, and more importantly, the application Market terms of service have been updated and go into effect December 11; we’re left only to assume that these both signal an OS update to deliver said Market changes. Some of the rumored features in the new Market include carrier billing support and a desktop client, but there’s nothing official just yet. As for 2.1 itself, we haven’t seen much, and may just be a maintenance patch to fix 2.0 bugs. In any case, December 11 isn’t far away, so we’ll be finding out if this rumour pans out soon enough.
