OSRAM SYLVANIA iPhone app

Here’s a great way to promote your brand – provide customers with a useful mobile app. OSRAM SYLVANIA, the automotive lighting solutions company, did just that with their iPhone application, which is made to help drivers to find the correct replacement headlights, signal bulbs and almost all other auto bulbs for their vehicle. You can think of it as a mobile automotive lamp replacement guide.

Here’s how to use it: select a vehicle’s make, model and year of manufacture, and get a detailed listing of replacement automotive bulbs for every make of car sold in the United States from 1991 to 2009 on the iPhone 3GS, and 1999 to 2009 on the iPhone 2G/3G and iPod Touch. I’m not sure why there’s such a difference, but I’m guessing your cars are newer than 1999, anyway.

The iPhone 3GS version is available for download from here, whereas the version for older iPhones and iPod Touch could be grabbed from here. Both versions are available free of charge.

this is a real tool, one that is useful! Instead of hoping the local store has an application guide handy at the shelf or trying to find the information in your owner’s manual (which are so easy to read, right). I think this is a great APP.
