TELUS Motorola Milestone NOT Coming This Month

Canadians that may be looking to get their DROID, er, sorry, MILESTONE on will have to wait a little bit longer. Rumors floating around recently had TELUS launching the Motorola Milestone on January 26th. While the date seemed doable, official confirmation via TELUS was never received, and it was always chalked up as rumor… And, guess what, it looks like that’s all it was.

My buds over at MobileSyrup have confirmed that the January 26th launch for the Moto Milestone is false. Don’t cry though, it’s coming soon. I’ll keep my ear to the ground for any more TELUS Motorola Milestone news as it becomes available…

In fact, seeking confirmation for myself, I checked with one of my sources over at TELUS and all they could offer was the following:

‘TELUS doesn’t comment on rumors and speculations but as previously mentioned when TELUS and Moto announced the upcoming release of the Milestone with TELUS, the device will be available in early 2010. We are as excited to bring this product to Canadians as many of your readers are and we will let everybody know when it’s launching officially as soon as we can.’

There you have it. TELUS is remains consistent in their stance. Early 2010 for the Moto Milestone. Stay tuned.

    Telus has to come out with better data plans or people are going to be surprised with their bills using these data hungry phones.

    It sure would be nice to know how Telus and/or Motorola define “early”, because frankly that could be any time in the first or second quarter which means it could still be four or five months from now.

    And what do you mean by that?

    Last time I checked Telus had a 25$/month 500 mb data plan available.

    The same was true with roger’s. The only difference was that the next step (5 or 6 Gb) was less expensive.

    But seriously, what a joke. Who actually uses 5 Gb of data per month on a mobile phone? I barely touch that with the web browsing on my PC.

    I pump over 3gigs of data a month through my Blackberry.. with radio streaming and web surfing it add’s up. Note i live in a remote area where dial-up is my only option..

    it will be in Q1 & was supposed to be Jan26th… turns out that was only a rumor….

    My Telus rep was at a “Telus conference” last week and he’s saying it will be available in the next two weeks and will likely not price over 200CAD with a 3 year term, comparable to the 16GB iPhone 3GS. Excited!

    My solution? Buy the Milestone outright, unlock it and use it on Bell’s network with my data package which I’m satisfied with. Cannot wait!!!
