Good news for the HTC Hero owners. The Taiwan-based handset maker is working on the new ROM for the device that will include the latest (and greatest) version of Android OS (2.1). According to HTC’s Benelux team, the Hero users will be blessed with the update at some point in mid-March, when they’ll be able to say to their Nexus-ownin’ buddies “this is still my Hero.” Or not… whatever…
Anyway, in addition to Android 2.1, the update will also include Friend Stream widget that helps users keep up with their buddies on social networks (Facebook and Twitter), as well as improved Microsoft Exchange support.
Now I’m guessing that following the updated firmware for the unlocked Hero, carrier-specific ROM versions will be released shortly afterwards…
