ACCESS, the company which you may know as the Palm OS (Garnet) code owner, introduced its NetFront for Android. However, it’s not just a browser they are bringing to the platform — they are also unveiling a set of tools for operators and device manufacturers using which these parties will be able to deliver customized user experiences and pre-install additional apps for the end users. In other words, it’s a complete suite of NetFront technologies that also (in addition to the web browser) includes NetFront FlexUI, NetFront Widgets and NetFront Document Viewer — all of which are on display at the Mobile World Congress. Moreover, ACCESS said it plans to develop NetFront Living Connect and NetFront Book Viewer EPUB Edition for Android and to make all of its NetFront apps available for download for end users… We’ll see how that goes and whether some carrier of handset makers dives in.
