A rumor is spreading around the Interwebs that Nokia is working on a new member of its X series family – X10, which will run the latest (and greatest) Symbian 3. What instantly comes to mind is “why X10?” – that name is now almost reserved for a Sony Ericsson device, actually a whole range of devices. In that sense, we’re hoping Nokia will choose a different name, one that will make it easier for consumers to differentiate between various products.

Specs wise, we’re talking about a device that has pretty much the same specs as the existing X6 model with the addition of a full side-slide QWERTY keyboard. In other words, there should be a 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen on board, 5-megapixel camera, WiFi and HSPA connectivity, GPS, some amount of built-in flash storage and so on.

And we have (sort of) a proof this isn’t totally fake. The YouTube clip below shows the X10 design sheet, though that could be easily made by some hard-core Symbian fan.

Whether this is true or not, we won’t know until the third quarter, when first Symbian 3 devices are set to hit the market. In the meantime, we can only speculate. Comments form is all yours to join in. ;)
