Although LG hasn’t officially announced the Cookie Fresh GS290, that doesn’t stop the company from having the device on display at this year’s CeBIT in Germany.

Specs wise, the new member of the Cookie family comes with a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, EDGE data, 3.5mm headset jack, media player, social networking client(s), FM radio, and presumably Bluetooth connectivity support and microSD memory card slot.

Again — just like that’s the case with other Cookie phones (the recently announced Cookie Plus included) — the Fresh GS290 will be sold to young savvy users who more often than not spend tons of their time on sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Samsung, LG’s archrival, has Corby family of devices (that even includes the Corby Bluetooth headset – WEP490) and it managed to move quite a few of them. LG is following the suit, trying to get its share of the still dominated-by-Samsung market. And it’s slowly getting there, steadily stealing market share from other handset makers… We’ll keep watching, you keep reading, k? ;)
