Just what my wallet didn’t need: Amazon has released an iPad-specific app that makes it easier to buy from the online giant.

What can we expect from the app? Well, Amazon says it has been tailored specifically for that big, beautiful screen. There’s also:

  • Purchase using Amazon’s 1-Click ordering and Amazon Prime
  • Track packages or modify orders using the Your Account feature
  • Receive personalized recommendations
  • View editorial and customer reviews
  • Browse Amazon’s Bestsellers, Gold Box Deal of the Day and Lightning Deals
  • Access Wish List and Universal Wish List
  • Watch movie trailers and listen to song samples
  • I’ve found the shopping app for Android and iPhone to be pretty solid, so I’d expect nothing less from the iPad version. This is the third app from Amazon for Apple’s tablet, as it also makes the IMDB and Kindle programs.
