As you may know (or don’t), iPad is now available in the UK. BBC’s iPlayer already works on the iPhone and iPod Touch and yes, it’s been optimized to sing along Apple’s tablet, as well.
Still in beta, the service launched yesterday delivering high definition programmes to the iPad users across the United Kingdom.
I haven’t been able to give iPlayer a try, but it definitely sounds promising. On the other hand, if you plan to use the iPad at the home, why not turn on the TV and enjoy the programming from a comfort of your sofa. Then again, iPad offers much more than streaming video and, as you know, you can use for reading, checking your email, surfing the web and so on — even from your bed.
Anyway, it’s good to see that despite being a state-run company, BBC is keeping up with the times. Hopefully, they’ll bring support for other (Android powered?) tablets as soon as these start emerging… and we do expect that to happen sooner rather than later.
