iVdopia, the company that provides rich media advertising on mobile phones (and which we’ve covered in the past), unveiled its latest ad format called Viper Ad, featuring the new swipe effect “never before used in mobile ads.”

Here’s how these ads work (from the press release):

Rather than shake the iPhone to spur a performer to dance, a user engaging with iVdopia’s Viper ads uses a fingertip to wipe away an image that has engulfed or taken over the screen. The swiping action reveals a range of interactive options where users can then purchase tickets to the movie featured in the ad, visit the film’s site, watch a video, or share the clip via Facebook or Twitter – all while staying within the application on their mobile device.

iVdopia’s main idea with Viper Ads is to enhance interactivity as users can access a host of social media features within the ad. Brands should love this as they could end up paying per engagement rather than CPM… You can get additional information from iVdopia’s website.
