RIM has just launched a new BlackBerry Feedback Tool through their Beta Zone, allowing you to whine and moan about problems and suggestions to a source that will presumably listen and potentially do something about it. All you have to do is hit the menu key when you’re in an app, and you can submit feedback right away. On the downside, you won’t get an answer back from RIM

This is actually a pretty neat idea, and I hope other manufacturers offer similar proactive, on-device feedback mechanism in the future. It’s decidedly easier to make a complaint on your phone, while the problem is arising than it is to drag yourself to a forum later when you’re at a computer, and submit a thread that could quickly become buried and ignored by the unending tide of other users. Of course, with such utility is going to come a lot of volume – I certainly hope RIM has the manpower to sort through all of the suggestions once this app is released publicly.

The BlackBerry Feedback Tool is only available for OS 5.0, so make sure you’re up-to-date before signing up in the Beta Zone.
