Following translation functions released in the last patch, HootSuite’s Twitter client for iPhone has been updated with language support for Japanese, German, Spanish and Portuguese. The aforementioned translations have also been tidied up a bit so you can translate to your default language with one click, which sounds awesome – I’ve got more than one international friend on Twitter that I would like to be able to talk with more often. There are a few other handy tweaks, like threaded conversations, local drafting, and Facebook commenting.
HootSuite is apparently the first iPhone Twitter app to go international, and I suspect other apps, like Seesmic, and the official app formerly known as Tweetie, will try to follow suit as quickly as possible. Download links to free and premium versions of HootSuite are below.
