YOUReality, metaio team-up on AR-powered retail visualization tool

A company called YOUReality has teamed up with augmented reality specialist metaio to launch what they call “Online Retail Visualization tool.” The idea behind such a product/service is to allow consumers to shop for products online and view them in 3D before they purchase, in their own spaces. In other words, YOUReality application answers the question “What will this look like in my home?”

YOUReality offers its 3D applications to retailers, manufacturers, and designers on one hand; and end users / buyers on the other. You can check out their website to get a real feel what they are all about.

Now, you may be wondering what’s this got to do with mobile? It does, actually. YOUReality’s partner is metaio, which is the same company that makes junaio augmented reality browser. And in that sense, I would expect that the two companies release some mobile component in the near future. As a matter of fact, the press release says they are already evaluating solutions in the mobile commerce market.

In the meantime, metaio suggests iPhone users to try out their iLiving app that “gives you a glimpse into the future of mobile shopping.”
