Alright, perhaps you already knew that there was a good chance that T-Mobile would be marking all its phones down to zero just before Father’s Day. Except what you and I weren’t too sure of was whether it’s actually happening. T-Mobile has just confirmed our wildest dreams and says that all phones will be free on June 19.
Of course, it’s not like T-Mobile is just giving everything away. You’ll need to qualify for a new family plan and sign the dotted line on a two-year contract, but that’s all to be expected. If you’re a single line user and you want a free handset, you’ll have to convert to a family plan. The beauty is that you can get up to five free phones for a family plan, but of course you’ll need a pretty large family first. Otherwise, this deal isn’t so enticing after all.
Ah, but before we get too carried away, there is still the issue of rebates. From the cheapest phones to the most expensive, everything is free but you may still have to fork over just a little cash and redeem it in the form of a rebate. It’s not the most fun thing in the world to do – cutting boxes and receipts and licking stamps – but ultimately you’ll be getting your phone for nothing.
