HootSuite’s Facebook and Twitter app for iPhone has been updated to include push notifications (pop-up, audio, or vibration) whenyou either get a reply, retweet, direct message, or when there are any new tweets on your home timeline. The update also includes new localizations for Arabic and Korean, as well as a few UI tweaks, like threaded conversations and avatar zooming. Ow.ly link shortening in Safari and OAuth integration round out the rest of the new functionality.
This is a pretty impressive rate for upgrades, considering the last HootSuite for iPhone update was a little under two weeks ago. This is all happening alongside development of their Android app HootSuite started off as a desktop browser app that let you manage multiple Twitter accounts and schedule tweets. It’s become a favourite among corporate tweeters who need to collaborate with a social marketing team and coordinate with press releases. As far as mobile goes, right now HootSuite competes with Seesmic, Tweetdeck, and countless others, but it seems to be doing pretty well for itself.
