There are no doubts in my mind Nokia will move quite a few C5 units. It’s an entry-level smartphone with an impressive feature set for the price. And now it’s hitting India where interested folks could grab it for 8,200 INR, which is about $175. Bare in mind that’s the price of an unlocked device and with some carrier subsidy (i.e. with a contract). it could easily hit the most popular price of all time – free. For the moment, however, the C5 is available only via Nokia Priority dealers, though I guess that’s easily changed in due course.
As you know, the C5 is a candybar-shaped Symbian S60 smartphone with a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSPA connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot. In addition, it comes with pre-loaded apps for social networking and sharing, allowing users to keep up with their buddies on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, hi5 and Friendster. Finally, there’s Ovi Maps with free navigation service which is an awesome selling point, especially for such an affordable device as C5…
