CDMA-based LG Cookie Zip hits India

LG Cookie Zip has been launched in India. Basically we’re talking about a slightly redesigned, CDMA-based version of the Cookie Plus GS500, which T-Mobile sell under the name LG Sentio in the U.S. Since it’s CDMA-based device, the Cookie ZIP will work with such India’s networks as Reliance, BSNL, Tata and MTS India.

Specs wise, LG’s all-touchscreen phone comes with a 3-inch 240×400 pixels touchscreen, Live TV capability (via EV-DO network), 2-megapixel camera, social networking integration (Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and MySpace), microSD memory card slot, and a 900 mAh battery that provides enough juice to keep it running up to 5 hours in the talk mode.

As for the pricing, LG will sell the Cookie Zip for 8,299 INR, which is about $178. That’s the price of an unlocked phone, meaning it could be offered for less with some carrier contract. At the moment, however, we don’t have any information whether some mobile operator will actually include the Cookie Zip in its offering…
