
Confidela — which is the company behind WatchDox, a document control, tracking and protection solution — announced support for Android 2.2 Froyo. As a result, WatchDox users will be able to access their protected documents even while on the go. Additionally, they [users] can track, control and protect those documents, directly from their phones.
WatchDox’ Android solution relies on Flash to deliver (stream) documents onto a secure viewer, which locks the document and prevents it from being copied, printed or forwarded without permission.
In a nutshell, we’re talking about a solution that won’t be use by an average Joe, except in case he’s part of on organization which takes security super seriously.
WatchDox Business, Publisher and Virtual Data Room versions are immediately supported by Android 2.2 Froyo. BlackBerry and Symbian users will also be able to access the service, though the Flash support is required — which I think is already supported in Symbian and should come to RIM’s platform later this year. In addition, Confidela will also develop a non-Flash version for Apple’s devices such as the iPhone and iPad…
