The Boston Symphony Orchestra launched the “BSO Media Center” iPhone app, providing its fans with the latest news, program notes and comprehensive season schedules for all events, along with special offers on tickets, merchandise and digital music.
In addition, users will be able to view the BSO’s Classical Companion, listen in and watch the BSO and Boston Pops Emmy-nominated podcasts, and view select WebTV episodes that offer a virtual “concert-going experience.” Moreover, there’s the option to stream live broadcasts of the Sunday-afternoon Tanglewood concerts, and listen to excerpts from all the albums released on the BSO Classics.
Finally, you can buy music directly right from within the app. Albums available include the BSO’s recordings of Ravel’s complete Daphnis and Chloé, Brahms’s A German Requiem; the Boston Pops’ The Dream Lives On and The Red Sox Album; and Tanglewood Festival Chorus: 40th Anniversary.
And that’s not all. In the coming weeks, BSO Media Center will be updated with push notification…
