ID&T is teaming up with Layar to spice up the upcoming dance event Mysteryland with some augmented reality. Those attending will be able to start Layar on their iPhone or Android device and do some cool things from the palm of their hand. For instance, there are information on all 150 DJs performing on the 16 stages along with instructions how to get there. Moreover, if you like what you hear, you can directly download the music to your phone via Dance Tunes.
All this is done in the augmented reality, seeing you pointing the phone around and clicking on the dots that appear on the camera view.
In addition to performers information, you can also discover other venues like creative shops, food courts, bars, coin registers, sanitary facilities and, off course, the exits. Twitter is also included, allowing you to see who’s tweeting around – this is a special tailor made edition of Layar’s “Tweeps Around.”
At the end, we learn that if folks like the idea and end up using Layar to get their way around Mysteryland, ID&T will use it for other events it organizes. Love the idea. 🙂
