Morgan Stanley launches research app for the iPhone

Morgan Stanley is apparently the first Wall Street institution to launch an iPhone app, bringing its research to the interested (and select) clients. Although it’s free to download, Morgan Stanley Research for iPhone is made for institutional clients who have a valid Client Link account.

If that’s on place, you will be able to use this “powerful tool” (as described by the bank’s COO – Barry Hurewitz) to access the latest research from Morgan Stanly’s analysts, read the investment debates and Risk Reward scenarios for the key value drivers. There are more than 2,600 companies covered as well as fixed income, currencies and economies — all of which [content] you can filter through based on your investment profile.

Those of you following the financial industry may’ve heard Morgan Stanley has been recently fined for failing to disclose analysts’ conflict of interests to customers. The bank had to pay a $800,000 fine for not informing clients and for not alerting customers to the availability of independent research…
