Scanbuy, aka the barcode scanning company, launched a developer program called Innovation Exchange, inviting companies from the ecosystem (developers, marketers and enterprise providers) to “link into a powerful set of mobile barcode tools.”

By accessing the new website, developers can launch virtually every part of the ScanLife mobile barcode solution from apps to analytics — there’s an option to use an individual product or create a completely customized, end-to-end barcode system.

Included in the program are SDKs for Android and iPhone OS, APIs to create a virtual code management platform and tools for printers to place unique codes on material like direct mail or packaging. A browser extension to generate codes from any URL or image is also available, and can be used even by non-developers.

In addition to its own developer website, Scanbuy also made its tools available to users of the Sprint Application Developer website and will shortly bring it to the Verizon Developer Community…
