After the iPhone app, Sam’s Club is going for other mobile platforms. The membership warehouse club is out with mobile apps for Android and BlackBerry smartphone users, and an “optimized for mobile” website.

Among the features included in the Sam’s Club app, we highlight:

  • Access to the latest information on local club events, membership renewal status and company announcements.
  • Access to eValues, which are customized discounts automatically loaded on membership cards. Moreover, members will be alerted when new offers are added to their eValues and when eValues near the expiration date.
  • Ability to locate and get directions to the nearest Sam’s Club using GPS and get all the information about each club, including hours of operation, specific product assortment, available services, as well as information about local events such as book signings, flu shots and road shows.
  • Club Map feature that helps members navigate the interior of each club, including the layout of individual department locations such as electronics, office supplies, fresh food, bakery and pharmacy.
  • Ability to “find the right product” by browsing the catalog by category or search a product by name. Additionally, users can scan barcodes to check the product’s online information page. And once a product you’re looking for is found, you can check out product reviews, availability status, in-depth product information, and see multiple product images.
  • Ability to make a list of favorite products and share them with friends on Facebook and Twitter.

And that’s about it. Sam’s Club mobile app can be downloaded immediately from the BlackBerry App World, Android Market and of course Apple’s AppStore.
