CardStar Mobile Rewards App Hits Windows® Phone 7

Sleek New User Interface Makes Storing and Using Loyalty Cards Easy

BOSTON, MA–(Marketwire – November 11, 2010) – CardStar announced today the first mobile rewards application for Windows Phone 7, rolling out a new version of its popular app for the Windows Phone Marketplace, Microsoft’s mobile app store.

The free app makes it easy for users to consolidate all of their membership and rewards cards in a single place for quick retrieval — eliminating the need to carry physical cards and extra wallet weight. There is no need to register for the app, Windows Phone 7 users can download the app from Windows Phone Marketplace now and add rewards or membership cards for 750 merchants or custom-add additional retailers with the tap of a button.

CardStar’s interface has been completely revamped for Windows Phone 7, taking full advantage of the platform’s dynamic, innovative design elements:

  • Sleek Design — The platform’s minimalist look pairs well with CardStar’s efficient fashion for digitally storing and accessing membership cards.
  • Seamless Experience — CardStar uses the phone’s touch navigation features for easy movement among the card barcode screen, information screens such as store locators, and browser screens with merchants’ websites.
  • Streamlined Tasks — Users can now add new cards in half the amount of time it takes on other platforms.

Future versions of CardStar for Windows Phone 7 will include CardStar Connect, which allows users to synch and backup their cards as well as check in to other applications, such as Foursquare.

“As one of our earliest app developers for Windows Phone 7, CardStar has designed an app that takes full advantage of the unique elements of our platform to deliver a user experience that is intuitive and easy,” said Todd Brix, senior director Windows Phone Marketplace at Microsoft.

Since launching in mid-2009, CardStar has become the most widely used mobile loyalty application in the world with more than 2 million downloads and 1 million active users. It is used in all 50 U.S. states and 173 countries worldwide.

“We know millions of people are using the CardStar app because they have a significant need for a simple way to access rewards cards and information about favorite merchants, so we make it a high priority for CardStar to be accessible across all platforms. That’s why we’re proud to be the first mobile rewards application available for Windows Phone 7,” said Andy Miller, CEO of CardStar.
